Priests are worshippers of the Great Ones who use a mixture of magic and melee. As such, they are less good at fighting than paladins and warriors but better than mages.
Priests can always cast spells from the Life or Death realm and a second realm of their choice, although having chosen Life or Death they may not choose the other as their second realm.
They cast these spells as a wisdom based divine spell caster, and as such they receive random spells from their realm when they increase in level.
Every priest will have a Great One as a patron. The priest’s favour with that Great One will default to being positive, and that Great One will be more responsive to sacrifices that the priest makes. The specific Great One that the priest has as a patron depends on which secondary realm of magic the priest chose.
Priests may not use edged weapons in combat unless those weapons are specially blessed.
